Role Overview

The Transportation Construction Inspector is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices, and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work.

What You Will Do

Prepare daily progress reports, maintain progress schedules, check shop drawings and contractors' quotations, keep records of quantities and cost of materials used, and prepare contractors' periodic progress payment claims.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education, and be able to read, write, and communicate in English and perform basic math computations.

Requirements

  • Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to wear required personal protective gear/equipment
