Role OverviewThe Transportation Construction Inspector is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work.
What You Will Do
The TCI prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules; checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations; keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used; prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education and be able to read, write, and communicate in English and do basic math computations for length, area, and volume. Preferred certifications include BS Civil Engineering, NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction, and OSHA 10-Hour certification.
