Role Overview

The Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work.

What You Will Do

The TCIS prepares daily progress reports, maintains progress schedules, checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations, keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used, prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment.

The Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor must have the ability to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand, and to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. The candidate must also have effective oral and written communication skills, and be able to follow and convey instructions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or post secondary education
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and do basic math computations
  • BS Civil Engineering
  • NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
  • NECEPT Bituminous field certification
  • ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
  • PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
  • ECMS experience
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification
