Role OverviewThe Transportation Engineer 1 (Engineering) will design and review electrical elements for traffic control signals and other electrical needs on State roadways. The role involves preparing plans using CAD software, preparing specifications and estimates for electrical elements related to transportation projects, and coordinating with utilities on Traffic Engineering signal projects.

The Transportation Engineer 1 (Engineering) will conduct field inspection and ensure electrical elements of traffic signals are constructed per contract documents. The role also involves providing technical assistance in researching and developing specifications for new technology.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- One (1) year of experience in transportation engineering or transportation construction engineering
- Possession of Professional Engineer (PE) licensure from the Department of Consumer Protection State Board of Examiners for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
- Possession of Engineer-In-Training (EIT) licensure from the Department of Consumer Protection State Board of Examiners for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
