Job Description
The Transportation Engineer 3/Bridge Standards Staff Specialist position at Ohio Dept of Transportation (ODOT) involves developing and maintaining Ohio bridge standards, researching and supporting policy for bridge design, construction, and maintenance, and advising stakeholders on bridge policy and project issues.

Requirements

  • Develop and maintain Ohio bridge standards
  • Research and support policy for bridge design, construction, and maintenance
  • Advise internal and external stakeholders on bridge policy and project issues
  • Utilize Engineering Software (e.g. Leap Bridge Concrete/Steel, Midas, Merlin-Dash, CADD-ORD/OBM/OBD, Mathcad)
  • Manage projects related to policy development and develop/lead training classes
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and sign engineering documents as a registered professional engineer
