Job Description
Perform highway lighting reviews for ODOT projects. Evaluate railroad crossing preemption treatments for applicability. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Highway Lighting, Signal Design, and Preemption. Participate in railroad crossing field reviews. Assist with ongoing updates to Highway Lighting, Signal Design, and Preemption Standards. Assist districts with electrical and lighting issues in the field.

Requirements

  • Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors
  • 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 3, 85643
  • Valid driver’s license if assigned to operate a state vehicle
  • Bargaining unit and exempt new hires to ODOT must serve a one-year probationary period
  • Subject to a criminal background check
  • Must not use marijuana (recreational marijuana/non-medical cannabis)
