Role Overview

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Houston District Fort Bend Area Office is seeking a Transportation Engineer II or III to support roadway design and construction efforts. This position offers the opportunity to lead and support roadway design for a wide range of transportation projects that directly impact the community, while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver innovative and effective solutions.

What You Will Do

The selected candidate will contribute to planning and developing projects that improve safety and mobility, work closely with local officials, contractors, and community partners, and gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of transportation engineering, including design, construction, traffic operations, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related science bachelor's or higher degree accepted by TX PELS
  • 5 years engineering, transportation engineering, or related engineering experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Licensed Prof Engineer
