Job Description
Role Overview

Collaborate with a team on the design of urban and rural roadways, highway and transit projects, stormwater management plans, and floodplain evaluations. Work under the direction of project engineers to apply various drainage design, engineering and modeling techniques in the development of transportation and water resource projects for local municipalities, state and federal clients.

What You Will Do

Prepare design drawings with BIM/CADD platforms for construction/contract plans along with specifications and cost estimates. Prepare hydraulic calculations and design deliverables, including hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, floodplain impact and compensation evaluations, stormwater modelling, bridge hydraulic and scour assessments, roadway drainage design, erosion and sediment control, water quality and attenuation systems, and permitting.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Water Resources or related discipline, previous experience or internship experience performing drainage design for highway/roadway projects, and experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or OpenRoads Designer focused on storm water design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental, water resources or other related fields
  • EIT or the ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated to complete tasks and learn new skills
