Role OverviewThe Transportation Maintenance Contract Inspector will assist in overseeing and inspecting roadway maintenance contracts for all state-maintained roadway and bridge facilities within the 610 Loop in Houston. This role will involve working with a great group of experienced inspectors and making a difference in roadway maintenance operations.
What You Will Do
The inspector will perform routine and moderately complex transportation operations or maintenance support work, including inspecting maintenance contracts, inspecting traffic control devices, and conducting tests of highway construction materials.

The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of inspection methods, procedures, and techniques, as well as materials used in highway/bridge construction and maintenance. Requirements
- Valid driver's license at the time of application
- Commercial Class 'A' Driver's License or have obtained a CDL 'A' License within 120 calendar days from date of employment
- Some knowledge of applicable inspection methods, procedures, and techniques
- Some skill in using basic mathematical fundamentals
- Prioritizing and organizing work assignments
- Using computers, applicable programs, applications, and systems
