Role Overview

The Transportation Support Specialist is a non-exempt position responsible for providing transportation and on-site supervision to children in out-of-home care. The role involves providing transportation and supervision, developing rapport with youth, utilizing de-escalation techniques, and maintaining client confidentiality.

What You Will Do

The Transportation Support Specialist will provide transportation and supervision of children to/from school, office, foster and/or group homes, and other locations in the community. They will also provide supervision to youth at the office, during transport, or in other community locations, as required.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children and/or families preferred
  • Knowledge of child development preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to be dependable, flexible, and empathetic
  • Ability to function independently and as a team member
  • Ability to use verbal de-escalation skills
  • Ability to work in high-stress situations
  • Ability to work with individuals who exhibit physically and/or verbally aggressive behaviors
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must have a valid driver's license with auto insurance coverage
