Role OverviewThis position is for a Transportation Worker IV in the Davidson County Maintenance Unit. Work will consist of a wide range of progressively responsible maintenance tasks in preventive maintenance, repair and construction of state-maintained roads and roadside features. Position will also serve as lead worker of a highway maintenance crew.
What You Will Do
Installation of traffic and erosion control devices, clearing of right-of-way, roadway grading, machining unpaved roads, pavement repair, pipe installation or other drainage tasks, inspecting contract work and monitoring manual tasks performed. Emergency response includes traffic accident clean-up, snow and ice removal, and other emergencies as they occur.

Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development diploma
- Six years of experience operating equipment directly related to the area of specialization
- Current Commercial Driver's License with Tanker (N) endorsement
- Ability to supervise work crews

- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public
- Ability to perform quantity calculations
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
