Role Overview

The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County is seeking experienced Trial Preparation Assistants to aid in all aspects of case preparation from intake to final disposition. The role involves compiling, analyzing, and reproducing case documents, preparing and filing documents, and performing legal research. The successful candidate will work directly with Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs) on specialty cases and accompany ADAs in court observing, capturing updates, and assisting in trials.

What You Will Do

The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling, analyzing, and reproducing case documents, preparing and filing documents, performing legal research, engaging in witness contact and communication, securing corroborating affidavits, and preparing orders for Court. They will also work directly with ADAs on specialty cases and accompany ADAs in court observing, capturing updates, and assisting in trials.

They will have proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above
  • Valid New York State driver's license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Discretion and integrity to work on highly confidential investigations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with general court services and functions
