Job Description
Maintains diesel and gasoline powered equipment and trucks by conducting inspections and preventive maintenance, correcting deficiencies, and keeping records. Verifies vehicle performance and appearance, and maintains vehicle records.

Requirements

  • Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests
  • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules
  • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
  • Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives
  • Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
  • Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions
  • Contains costs by using warranty
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock and placing orders
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
