Role OverviewThe Before/After-School Certified tutor is responsible for providing academic, social, physical, and skill development for students in specific grades/subject areas. The tutor will work with small groups of students and individuals, as necessary, and assist the classroom teacher with academic instruction and daily routines.
What You Will Do
Generates tutoring plans, develops and assists students with academic exercises, compiles and prepares materials, reinforces knowledge and skills taught by the classroom teacher, and provides instructional support to students identified in need of tutoring services.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid, and have one year of experience working with children in an educational setting. The ideal candidate will be able to utilize effective instructional practices, behavior management strategies, assessment techniques, and directed teaching methods.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours)
- Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test
- One (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred)
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
