Job Description
Performs routine work involving advising and assisting veterans and eligible persons with the Department of Veterans Affairs claims process. Collaborates with external partners and coordinates with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Requirements

  • Interview veterans and family members to record and assess benefits information
  • Apply and interpret VA laws, including veterans' case law, existing statutes and procedures, precedent rulings, and state law in the benefit eligibility process
  • Prepare and file claims and appeals with supporting evidence for successful adjudication
  • Consult with medical and legal staff in the development of pertinent evidence to support claims
  • Establish relationships with external stakeholders and community partners to connect veterans to assisted services
  • Maintain client files and document all services provided into the case management system daily
  • Manage daily workload through the appointment booking software
