Job Description
Performs routine (entry-level) work involving advising and assisting veterans and eligible persons with the Department of Veterans Affairs claims process. Work involves collaboration with external partners to include the Veterans County Service Officers and coordination with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major course work in social work, business management, political science or a related field
  • One (1) year of specialized experience assisting with documentation to determine basic eligibility for benefits or programs
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Honorably discharged veteran (preferred)
  • Experience in filing benefit claims with the Department of Veteran Affairs (preferred)
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the processing of veterans' claims (preferred)
  • Fluent in Spanish (preferred)
