Role OverviewThe Uncertified Firefighter/EMT shall be a sworn firefighting position. Upon acceptance of this position the selected applicant shall pass an NFPA 1583 physical and will be required to pass this physical annually along with passing the required annual physical assessments. The uncertified firefighter will have to complete a rigorous fire academy within the permitted time given by the Fire Chief or designee.
What You Will Do
Respond to emergencies, complete apparatus and facility checks, keep equipment stocked and maintained, and all other duties assigned by the Fire Chief or designee.

Requirements
- Pass an NFPA 1583 physical
- Pass the required annual physical assessments
- Complete a rigorous fire academy
- Obtain Hazardous Materials Operations, Firefighter 1 and 2, NWCG S-130/190/L-180 certifications
- Obtain all required NIMS certifications
- Obtain driver operator certification
- Obtain basic EMS for firefighters certification
- Obtain an approved CPR course
