Role OverviewThe Unemployment Insurance Senior Specialist will be responsible for communicating with coworkers, employers, and third-party representatives, reviewing completed work for accuracy, and assisting in training new staff. The role will involve handling employer and sensitive inquiries, creating and reviewing written procedures, and managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. The Specialist will demonstrate strong organizational skills and flexibility with changing priorities, and show advanced knowledge of Unemployment Insurance (UI) tax laws, employer liability, wage reporting, tax rate assignments, and compliance processes.
What You Will Do

The Specialist will also be responsible for creating and reviewing written procedures, managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, and demonstrating strong organizational skills and flexibility with changing priorities.

Requirements
- 24 months experience as Unemployment Insurance Specialist
- 6 months training or 6 months experience in utilizing unemployment compensation automated systems
- 36 months experience in interpreting and applying program eligibility and liability laws
- 12 months experience or 12 months training in developing correspondence
- 12 months training or 12 months experience in providing technical assistance
- 24 months training or 24 months experience in customer contact
- 24 months training or 24 months experience in operation of personal computer in a MS Windows environment
- 6 months training or 6 months experience in utilizing unemployment compensation automated systems
- Completion of undergraduate coursework in business administration, public administration, human services, or social sciences
