Unemployment Insurance Senior Specialist

The Unemployment Insurance Senior Specialist will be responsible for communicating with coworkers, employers, and third-party representatives, reviewing completed work for accuracy, and assisting in training new staff. The role will involve creating and reviewing written procedures, managing multiple tasks, and communicating professionally. The Specialist will demonstrate strong organizational skills and flexibility with changing priorities, and show advanced knowledge of Unemployment Insurance (UI) tax laws, employer liability, wage reporting, tax rate assignments, and compliance processes.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities of this position include communicating with various stakeholders, reviewing work for accuracy, assisting in training, and completing production reports on time. The Specialist will also participate in team meetings, training sessions, and group discussions.

Requirements

• 24 months experience as Unemployment Insurance Specialist
• 6 months training or 6 months experience in utilizing unemployment compensation automated systems
• Completion of undergraduate coursework in business administration, public administration, human services, or social sciences
• 12 months experience in interpreting, applying, and making decisions for program eligibility and/or liability
• 12 months training or 12 months experience in developing correspondence
• 12 months training or 12 months experience in providing technical assistance
• 24 months training or 24 months experience in customer contact (i.e., telephone, face-to-face, and/or electronic communication) for purposes of problem solving
• 24 months training or 24 months experience in operation of personal computer
• 6 months training or 6 months experience in utilizing unemployment insurance automated systems
