Job Description
The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) is seeking a Unit Supervisor to supervise a unit of 5 Child Protective Specialists and 1 Child Protective Specialist Supervisor Level I. The supervisor will be responsible for reviewing written records, monitoring subordinates' compliance, ensuring assessment completion, and providing training and guidance.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
  • 24 semester credits in social work, psychology, sociology, human services, criminal justice, education, nursing, or cultural anthropology
  • 30 semester credits toward a Masters of Social Work degree or toward a graduate degree in a related field
  • 18 months of child protective casework experience
  • Master of Social Work degree or Master’s degree in a related discipline
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Knowledge of the NY State Connections comprehensive case management system
  • Familiarity working with NYC’s diverse communities
  • Experience and ability to step into an existing unit and assume all responsibility quickly
