Job Description
As a Utility Locator, you will play a vital role in accurately identifying, marking, and documenting Greenwood Village’s underground infrastructure. This position requires strong communication skills, technical accuracy, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and residents.

Requirements

  • Field Locating Tasks: Read and interpret utility maps, plan sets, prints, and aerial imagery.
  • Safely and efficiently locate storm drain systems, electrical infrastructure, and telecommunication lines associated with traffic signals and streetlights.
  • Operate and maintain specialized locating equipment and handheld detection devices.
  • Mark underground infrastructure using spray paint, flags, or other approved methods.
  • Conduct on-site meetings with contractors, participate in project discussions, and identify utility line locations.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Use GIS software to input, update, and maintain asset information.
  • Maintain accurate records and construction drawings to meet state accuracy requirements.
  • Prepare reports, forms, summaries, and documentation for completed work or damaged utilities.
  • Complete all required digital documentation and paperwork.
  • Miscellaneous Duties: Perform minor maintenance on equipment and tools.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Manage inventory of locating supplies and replenish materials as needed in alignment with purchasing policies.
