Job Description
The Utility Planner and Scheduler is a full-proficiency, para-professional classification responsible for applying knowledge of organizational and industry training requirements to work performed. The Utility Planner and Scheduler identifies and analyzes organizational training needs and designs, plans, and schedules training activities to fulfill those needs.
Requirements
Knowledge of the assigned work unit.
Knowledge of and proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Project, Word, etc.).
Skill in estimating materials, equipment, machinery and personnel costs.
Skill establishing projects timelines for material, equipment, machinery and personnel use.
Skill in devising solutions to planning problems.
Skill in retaining and recalling information.
Skill in conveying technical information verbally and in writing.
Skill in working projects through to completion within specified time periods.
Skill in relating to others with tact and diplomacy.
Skill in writing project specifications.
Skill in coordinating project activities.
Skill in establishing goals and objectives.
Ability to produce and track a budget and understand financial statements.
Ability to create and communicate assignment sheets.
Ability to follow direction.
Ability to work together with department and City staff and/or contract representatives.
Ability to communicate ideas, instructions, questions, problems, and solutions.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to travel.
Willingness to assume responsibility for decisions made and work performed.
