Role OverviewAs a member of the Day Program team, you have the incredible opportunity to serve an amazing population with intellectual and developmental disabilities and make a real difference in their lives. You get to help participants meet their goals, learn new skills, brighten their day, and in turn your own! You will be providing care by ensuring everyone’s health and safety while empowering them to get the most out of their day.
What You Will Do
Delivering transportation, companionship and assistance services, using a company vehicle, to individuals that attend day program across the Denver Metro Area. Assist individuals with disabilities as they get on and off the vehicles. Act as a representative of Spectrum and ensure that all those receiving services are treated respectfully.
Why It Might Be a Fit
You will be working with individuals to meet their formal and informal goals, as well as service plan requirements. You will be responsible for the safety and security of the van and client specific information. You will be assisting with feeding, changing, and performing any activities of daily living required to ensure the health and safety of our participants.
Requirements
- At least one year working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities or related field
- At least 21 years of age or older
- High energy, positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for caring for others
- Pass a Criminal and Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) background check
- Possess a valid Colorado driver’s license and is willing to undergo a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
- Able to park Spectrum van at residence (not street parking)
- Able to provide all elements of hands-on care per client’s individual needs
