Role Overview

The VDC Engineer is an integral part of the VDC team, working with VDC managers to assist in the design and trade partner coordination process. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong proficiency in visualizing the constructability of various projects. The VDC Engineer may be required to travel up to 15% of the time.

What You Will Do

Support one to three VDC deliverables at a time, translate 2D drawings and specs into 3D/4D models, stay informed on BIM-related software, and support the pre-construction process by producing and adjusting models as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience in the AEC industry
  • 0-3 years’ experience working a BIM or VDC-related role
  • 0-3 years’ experience in the field of design, engineering, or construction
  • Proficient software knowledge in Autodesk packages (i.e.: Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.) and other design technology in the AEC industry
  • Experience creating custom Revit families
  • Familiarity with construction concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Possesses strong technical skills and creative problem-solving abilities
