Role Overview

The Vehicle Performance Test Engineer will be responsible for conducting NVH and Ride testing of existing Peterbilt and competitor products, identifying opportunities for improvement, and conducting research and development of concepts and prototypes. The primary responsibility will be to quantify product performance and identify opportunities for improvement through baselining current products, benchmarking competitive products, and conducting research and development. Focus will be primarily on the Vehicle Property of NVH and Ride but may also include additional responsibilities supporting other assignments of the Vehicle Properties and Performance group.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to: leading and/or participating in the planning and execution of test plans, instrumenting and de-instrumenting test articles, directing and/or conducting research, concept development, and evaluations, conducting in-depth data analysis to reveal root causes, generating reports, and presenting findings to management and others to initiate changes for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Head Acoustics, Siemens Test Lab, and/or Muller-BBM VibroAkustik Systeme experience
  • Previous testing experience or strong desire as career interest
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) or strong desire to obtain
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
