Role Overview

The VCM Test Analyst serves as the owner's independent technical representative responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on shipyard Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities throughout vessel construction. The position evaluates test planning, monitors system completion, assesses test readiness, and provides objective assessments of testing progress to the VCM leadership team.

What You Will Do

The VCM Test Analyst will work closely with Engineering, Production, Planning, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, ABS, OEM representatives, and shipyard Test & Trials personnel to ensure each vessel is constructed, tested, documented, and delivered in accordance with the overall Program Test & Evaluation Strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shipboard mechanical, electrical, auxiliary, piping, HVAC, propulsion, and integrated ship systems, as well as experience supporting Factory Acceptance Tests, Dock Trials, Harbor Acceptance Trials, Builder's Trials, Acceptance Trials, or similar testing programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience supporting naval shipbuilding, commercial shipbuilding, ship repair, marine engineering, industrial construction, or commissioning activities.
  • Minimum five (5) years supporting shipboard testing, system completion, commissioning, trials, or Test & Evaluation activities.
  • Experience reviewing technical procedures, engineering drawings, specifications, and shipboard testing documentation.
  • Strong understanding of shipboard mechanical, electrical, auxiliary, piping, HVAC, propulsion, and integrated ship systems.
  • Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Tests, Dock Trials, Harbor Acceptance Trials, Builder's Trials, Acceptance Trials, or similar testing programs.
