Role OverviewThe Vet Assistant will be responsible for greeting clients, determining their needs, and completing check-in and check-out. They will also assist with patient care, treatment, and preparation for surgical procedures.
What You Will Do
The Vet Assistant will perform various tasks such as administering medications, collecting and recording patient history, and following safety protocols to ensure the safety of pets, clients, and team members.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Veterinary Medication Clerk License preferred, but not required
- Valid Driver's license and clean driving record
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, e-mail and Clinic HQ preferred)
- Proper telephone etiquette and client service excellence
- Basic veterinary medical knowledge, including products and services
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and still attend to detail
- Ability to handle animals with care and patience
- Ability to work well with others
- Experience in shelter medicine/HQHVSN preferred
- Learning mindset with continual desire to improve skills
- Calm, consistent demeanor in times of stress
- Ability to receive feedback as a positive contribution to growth
