Role OverviewThe Division of Environmental Health, part of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, works to prevent and manage illnesses and injuries caused by environmental and workplace health risks. The Office of Veterinary Public Health Services is dedicated to safeguarding the health of New York City residents and visitors by preventing animal-borne diseases and reducing related hazards and nuisances.
What You Will Do
Monitoring and investigation of reported cases of animal bite exposures, review of animal health certificates and related documents, monitoring and conducting site visits of Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), spay and neuter providers and other permitted holding facilities to maintain compliance with regulations and contract of services.

Requirements
- Possession of a valid New York State license to practice veterinary medicine.
- Basic knowledge of public health principles and animal welfare regulations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
