Victim Services - Campus Education and Sexual Assault Advocate

The Victim Services – Campus Education & Sexual Assault Advocate plays a vital role in supporting survivors of sexual violence while leading impactful prevention and education efforts on college campuses across Orange County. This position blends hands-on crisis intervention with dynamic campus and community education, offering an opportunity to create lasting change at both the individual and systemic levels.

What You Will Do

Provide front-line, trauma-informed advocacy and crisis intervention to primary and secondary survivors of sexual violence. Deliver and coordinate NYS Department of Health – Enough is Enough prevention education on college campuses. Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and equitable environment aligned with MHA’s Cultural Equity Policy and Welcome Orange initiative.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• Associate’s Degree with at least two (2) years of relevant experience
• High School Diploma with at least four (4) years of relevant experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking
• Confidence facilitating educational presentations to diverse audiences
• Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in crisis situations
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities
• Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards
• Willingness and ability to participate in on-call coverage
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Demonstrated understanding of—and commitment to—social justice values
• Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred

Benefits

• Hourly Rate: $20/hour to $24/hour
• On-Call Benefits: $150 voucher for after-hours, in-person accompaniments
