Role OverviewThe Associated Press seeks a multiplatform video producer to produce daily video in the U.S. East Coast afternoon and evening hours. This role is key to our coverage of the White House, Congress, and politics, delivering content tailored for newsrooms and digital platforms.
What You Will Do
Edit breaking news video, produce video edits in various styles, record on-camera dispatches, and write storylines and shotlists with speed and accuracy.

Requirements
- advanced-level professional competency in non-linear video editing
- demonstrated ability to use visual effects and graphics to enhance storytelling
- ability to work a schedule normally running from 1:00pm-9:00pm ET on weekdays
- experience creating content for digital audiences
- fluency in the variety of audience consumption patterns on different online platforms
- track record of identifying trending stories and producing social videos
- experience working with and coaching reporters to appear on camera
- strong writing skills in English
- strong communication skills
- fluency in pursuing innovative production techniques
- bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- at least three years of full-time experience at a daily newspaper, video newsroom, online or digital news outlet, or an AP bureau or regional desk
- authorization to work in the United States
- advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English
