Role Overview

The University of the District of Columbia is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate for a position in Applied Keyboard, Music Theory, Music History and Literature, and Collaborative Piano. The incumbent will teach undergraduate courses in Music, perform in recitals and concerts, and maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.

What You Will Do

Teach undergraduate courses in Music, perform in recitals and concerts, advise and mentor students, maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records, and perform other related duties.

The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in music theory, composition, or musicology, piano, and/or equivalent professional experience, and evidence of successful teaching experience in music theory, music history, and piano at the college level.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in music theory, composition, or musicology, piano, and/or equivalent professional experience
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience in music theory, music history, and piano at the college level
  • Evidence of experience as a collaborative pianist
  • Evidence of knowledge of a broad spectrum of music literature
