Role Overview

Mapfre is seeking a strategic and results-driven leader to shape the future of our Commercial Lines business. As Vice President, Commercial Lines Underwriting & Product Development, you will lead underwriting strategy, product development, pricing, and regulatory execution to deliver profitable growth, strengthen portfolio performance, and enhance customer value. This role leads a high-performing team responsible for innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth across the Commercial Lines portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of Commercial Lines underwriting, product development, or related insurance experience.
  • Proven leadership experience at the Director, AVP, or VP level.
  • Deep expertise in Commercial Lines products, underwriting, pricing, portfolio management, and regulatory filing processes.
  • Strong understanding of profitability management, risk assessment, and underwriting governance.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with Actuarial and cross-functional business leaders to drive strategic outcomes and profitable growth.
  • Exceptional communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • CPCU, FCIP, ACAS, FCAS, or similar professional designation preferred.
  • Experience leading product modernization, digital underwriting initiatives, automation strategies, portfolio transformation, and data-driven decision making strongly preferred.
