Warehouse Forklift Operator - 3rd shift

Requirements

• Operates a lift truck by driving backwards and twisting to be able to look in the direction of travel on a continual basis
• Moves controls to drive battery-powered lift trucks and transports materials between loading, unloading, processing, and storage areas
• Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment
• Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms
• Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas
• Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices
• Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts
• Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards
• Performs all other duties as assigned or needed
• Unloads products from inbound carriers (truck and rail cars)
• Verifies that the product received is identified and counted accurately
• Inspects condition of all received product
• Moves and places product safely and securely in its proper storage location
• Receives and reads preload orders
• Fills orders by accurately picking product from storage and staging that product on a spot utilizing stacking guidelines
• Inspects and loads trucks and arranges the products with the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading practices and guidelines
• Uses scanning devise and computer as needed to perform tasks
• Checks printout for shortages, over-counts and incorrect model numbers
• Corrects shortages, over-counts and incorrect models where possible
• Inspects trailers before loading products
• Counts units on preload spot and compares with shipping documents
• Moves products from the preload spot, and directly from storage when required, into the trailer
• Arranges the products within the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading practices and guidelines
• Properly secures the load for travel
