Job Description
The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks to hire two (2) Watershed Maintainers to serve as Water Supply Control Center Operators in Grahamsville, New York. The successful candidates will work under the supervision of the Supervisor of Water Supply Control Center and be responsible for monitoring and managing the operation of the water supply reservoirs and related facilities.

Requirements

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent
  • One year of full-time satisfactory experience in the operation and maintenance of equipment used in the controlling or purification of water at facilities in watershed areas, reservoirs, or aqueduct systems
  • Ability to travel throughout the 2,000+ square mile watershed, utilizing a New York City vehicle
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Adobe
  • Ability to collaborate problem solving while modeling the principles of the City’s EEO policy
