Role OverviewThe NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking a Watershed Maintainer to work in the Ashokan Chemical Treatment Facility (ACTF) in the Drinking Water Operations Directorate. The Watershed Maintainer will be responsible for maintaining compliance with federal and state drinking water regulations, ensuring hazardous material cleanup throughout the watershed, and performing daily plant operations and maintenance tasks across the Catskill Region.
What You Will Do
The Watershed Maintainer will be responsible for routine inspection, operation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of specialized water treatment, storage, and conveyance infrastructure, as well as conducting chemical treatment samples and other required tests.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have experience with water treatment, plumbing tools, chainsaw, landscape equipment, hand and power tools, and heavy equipment and motorized vehicles. The ability to learn how to use a computerized maintenance management system and a computer tablet to receive work orders and input data is also preferred.
Requirements
- Motor Vehicle Driver’s License valid in the State of New York
- NYSDOH Grade IIB water treatment operator certificate
- NYSDOH Grade C water treatment operator certificate
