Role OverviewThe Weatherization Program Manager has a leadership role in program planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Weatherization Program and other activities. The position involves frequent travel throughout service areas, and due to the nature of the duties, involves working at various locations and properties throughout the service areas. The position requires constant positioning of self and to be in a stationary position for periods of time. Position also requires the ability to operate tools and equipment to perform job duties.
What You Will Do
Provides general program management and supervision for the Weatherization Program and program staff/contractors. Performs routine and technical tests/measures/calculations on homes selected for services. Serves as Auditor/Estimator/Inspector for the Weatherization Program throughout the designated service area.

The ideal candidate will have Building Performance Institute (BPI) Energy Auditor and Quality Control Inspector (QCI) certifications, or Indiana Weatherization Competency certifications. A graduate of an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technology; Energy Technology; or Building Construction Technology or Management is required. A combination of both education and/or experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Requirements
- Building Performance Institute (BPI) Energy Auditor and Quality Control Inspector (QCI) certifications, or Indiana Weatherization Competency certifications
- A graduate of an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technology; Energy Technology; or Building Construction Technology or Management
- Ability to communicate frequently, both in writing and orally, in an effective and positive manner
- Ability to work independently and both positively and effectively with members of the public, supervisors, subordinates, and other LHDC volunteers and employees
- Ability to plan, organize, and follow through on assigned activities
- Proficient knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and mathematics
- Proficient with computer systems and functions, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and email usage
- Ability to analyze and provide solutions to a variety of problems
- Ability to work an irregular schedule, if necessary
- Strict confidentiality is expected and required
- Must possess a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance and be able to travel both locally and out-of-area as necessary
- Ability to establish trusting relationships while maintaining boundaries
- Demonstrates acceptance of individual differences and is willing to work with the culturally diverse populations present among the site’s target population
