Role Overview

The Application Development Division in the Information Technology Services Directorate is seeking a Web Application Engineer to provide application development and maintenance services for Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, maintenance, testing, and ongoing support of enterprise-level solutions.

What You Will Do

Design, develop, and maintain Single-Page Applications using ASP.NET, Vue.js, and Vuetify to support ORNL business and operational requirements. Collaborate with business customers to gather, analyze, and document user requirements and translate those requirements into effective application designs and solutions.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The successful candidate will have experience developing single-page web applications using ASP.NET MVC and Web API, and experience with the .NET Framework (4 or greater) and/or Modern .NET (8 or greater).

Requirements

  • BS degree in computer science, software engineering, computer information systems, or a related technical or scientific field
  • 5 or more years of experience in designing and querying relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle
  • Applying formal application development and debugging techniques
  • Developing web applications using core web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
