Role OverviewERG is hiring a skilled welder/fabrication technician to support technical research and fabrication activities for the US EPA’s Office of Research and Development. The selected candidate will work in machine shops and industrial environments, supporting fabrication of custom components and research apparatus.
What You Will Do
Perform TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel, perform MIG welding on mild and stainless steel, fabricate intricate and structural components, build custom sampling apparatus and components, and operate shop equipment.

Requirements
- High school diploma; trade school training preferred
- 5+ years of professional welding experience
- Proficiency welding stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel (TIG and MIG)
- Ability to fabricate from drawings, designs, or conceptual ideas
- Working knowledge of related trades (e.g., electrical, machining, pipefitting) in industrial settings
- Ability to operate or learn a wide range of shop equipment
- Strong commitment to safety and shop cleanliness
- Ability to pass a government background check
