Job Description
Welder Foreman to provide supervision and coordination of workers engaged in various construction projects, including welding, structural, and civil inspections. Must have 5+ years of industrial and supervisory experience, AWS CWI or ASNT Level II Technician certification, and valid driver's license and TWIC card.

Requirements

  • Indirectly supervises the work of welders in the Operations Department
  • Performs daily construction surveillance at project site
  • Writes daily reports based on observations made
  • Coordinates code compliance inspections per client specifications and State laws
  • Maps welds to be performed
  • Flags welds for Non-Destructive Examination (NDE)
  • Performs NDE's when required
  • Fully inspects all welds prior to and immediately after hydro
  • Witness hydro of welded piping and/or vessel
  • Effectively interfaces with client QA personnel
  • Review contract documents, submittals, shop drawings, and schematics
  • Execute Work Plans for major components of work
  • Execute established procedures for ordering self-perform materials, supplies, and small tools
  • Monitor daily labor costs and production rates for accuracy and conformance with established budgets
  • Encourage craftsmen to develop innovative methods for increasing efficiency, productivity, and profitability
  • Execute hourly time card reporting
  • Maintain all equipment assigned to crew and conduct preventive maintenance training for operator(s)
  • Provide a detailed construction plan for each day and general plan for one week
  • Manage scheduling of all QA/QC inspections of work necessary to obtain owner acceptance of the work
  • Inspect work in progress and ensure that it is performed within the tolerances established
  • Conduct Tool Box and JHA Safety Meetings with employee-owners
  • Enforce all safety regulations and company policies
  • Investigate alternative work methods and materials to improve efficiency and work quality
  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with project completion, including closeout punch lists, demobilization, etc.
  • Maintain a detailed and accurate daily report of all activity associated with field construction activities
