Welder
Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks within the Welding Department to produce components that meet customer order requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, TIG welding of sheet metal, aluminum, and stainless steel, as well as cutting, punching, and rolling extruded aluminum bar. Welders are also responsible for all touch-up paint work. This position may be reassigned to other departments as business needs dictate.

Duties and Responsibilities


Perform TIG welding on formed aluminum and stainless-steel sheet metal components in accordance with production specifications and quality standards.


Prepare, prime, and paint welded parts.


Operate semi-automated extrusion saw equipment.


Perform punching operations on extruded bar.


Slit and roll extruded bar to required radii.


Perform material handling tasks, including forklift operation and unloading trucks.


Accurately track productivity and completed orders using the production control (ERP) system.


Follow all plant safety requirements and proactively report near misses and incidents to management.


Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with established 6S standards.


Serve as a helper or machine operator on shears, presses, packaging/shipping, or other equipment as assigned by management.


Attend and actively participate in department, shift, and safety training meetings.


Perform other duties as assigned.



Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


Must be 18 years of age or older.


Ability to read and interpret production orders and blueprint drawings.


Welding experience and/or certification preferred but not required.


Strong mathematical and measurement skills, including use of rulers (to 1/64”) and protractors.


Flexible team player with a strong work ethic and reliable attendance.


Effective interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with team members and leadership.


Strong attention to detail.


Self-motivated problem solver capable of working independently.


Forklift experience preferred but not required.



Education and Experience


High School Diploma or GED.


Welding Certification Preferred


Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within a welding work cell.



Working Conditions


Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to ambient and outdoor temperatures, dust, mechanical parts, pinch points, and elevated noise levels.



Hours Worked


Sunday through Thursday: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM.


Flexibility to work overtime as required.
