Role Overview

As a Welder at Orion, you will work on marine and heavy civil projects, supporting the construction of docks, wharves, marine terminals, bridges, and other complex waterfront infrastructure. You will work closely with experienced tradespeople and be responsible for welding, cutting, grinding, and clean-up in various projects. Safety, teamwork, and skilled tradespeople are essential to our success.

What You Will Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include working as assigned by the Welding Shop Foreman, gathering information on project scope, obtaining necessary permits, and utilizing various welding techniques, including stick rod welding, acetylene cutting, and arc welding. You will also be responsible for inspecting and making minor repairs to welding equipment, picking up needed materials, and working closely with other skilled craftspeople.

You will be a fit for this role if you have a minimum of two years of welding experience, good knowledge of welding practices and materials, and the ability to pass standard welding tests. You should also be an effective verbal communicator and able to keep simple records of time and material used for each project.
