Role OverviewMetalcraft of Mayville's West Bend facility seeks a 1st Shift Welding Department Lead to oversee both manual and robotic weld departments. The role is responsible for assisting the Supervisor, performing all types of welding, and giving instruction to welders. The Weld Lead will act as a good role model, keep the department organized and clean, and ensure parts are made correctly while following the schedule.
What You Will Do
Perform all essential functions of the robotic welder and manual welder, assist the Supervisor in directing work activities, and communicate information to resolve problems and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- High school degree, diploma, or GED equivalent qualification
- Understanding of welding fundamentals
- Basic welding experience and/or training
- Basic knowledge of Mig Welding Equipment
- Successful completion of internal weld test
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to efficiently assist in leading a team and coordinate work with other departments
- Prior experience working within a highly technical environment
- Strong basic math skills
- Previous experience working within a weld department
- Previous forklift experience
- Exposure to a Lean manufacturing environment
- General understanding of Metric and Standard systems
- Microsoft Office skills
- Prior lead experience, preferably in a weld department
- SAP experience ideal
