Role OverviewThe Fitness Assistant is responsible for developing, leading, and promoting engaging fitness and wellness programs that support the health, mobility, and overall well-being of residents.
What You Will Do
Plan, coordinate, and lead fitness and wellness programs, including group classes and individual exercise sessions, and motivate residents to engage in regular physical activity.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, or wellness coach, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Fitness-related education and/or experience
- Personal Trainer Certification preferred
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Previous experience as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, or wellness coach, ideally working with older adults
- Working knowledge of various computer systems, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong understanding of safe exercise techniques and modifications appropriate for seniors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage participants
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively with the community’s wellness and activities teams
- Ability to lift, move, and demonstrate exercises and equipment as required
- Flexible schedule to support programs and activities, including occasional weekends or special events
