Role OverviewThe Wheelhouse Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a vessel, crew, and tow. They must follow company policy, rules, and regulations, and report any violations. The Captain must also conduct safety meetings, ensure crew members are properly trained, and enforce vessel-specific guidelines.
What You Will Do
The Captain will conduct monthly drills, ensure work is completed according to safety policies, and enforce all company policies and vessel guidelines. They will also participate in crew management, performance evaluation, and budget management.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a USCG Master of Towing Vessels license, meet physical examination requirements, and be able to travel to and from vessel/training locations. They will also be able to provide instructions and information to crew members and other personnel.
Requirements
- USCG Master of Towing Vessels license endorsed for service
- Meet USCG physical examination requirements
- Be able to travel to and from vessel/training locations via air or car travel
- Maintain an active TWIC
