Role Overview

The Workforce Development Specialist builds and implements the SCHD Workforce Development Plan to ensure SCHD can prevent disease, promote wellness and protect the public from health threats. The position plans and implements workforce development activities according to public health accreditation standards and coordinates trainings, new employee onboarding and student learning.

What You Will Do

Implement and monitor agency Workforce Development Plan, ensure provision of strategic, internal SCHD staff competency trainings, and measure their effectiveness. Coordinate SCHD new employee onboarding, including preparation for and implementation of new employee orientation and follow up.

The ideal candidate will have three years of project management experience, two years of experience working with community groups or organizations, and one year of work experience with data management and/or data analysis.

Requirements

  • Three years of project management experience
  • Two years of experience working with community groups or organizations
  • Two years of work experience writing and implementing plans and/or policies
  • One year of work experience with data management and/or data analysis
  • One year of presenting to audiences
  • Valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance
  • Completion of Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) IS 100, 200, and 700 courses within 30 days of employment
  • One year of experience with Microsoft Suite or compatible tools
