Role OverviewThe Yard Associate will perform various yard activities, including operating a forklift, providing customer service, and ensuring product/material is well stocked. The role requires direct supervision and involves assisting customers, reviewing materials, and completing paperwork. The Yard Associate will also perform routine clean-up of the yard and understand and observe all safety procedures and practices.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Yard Associate include assisting customers in the location and loading of product, reviewing materials against invoices or requisitions, and moving product/material throughout the yard. The role also involves ensuring product/material is well stocked, performing routine clean-up of the yard, and providing superior customer service.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate for this role will have a high school diploma or equivalent, six months of experience in performing similar tasks, and OSHA Forklift Certification. The candidate should also have knowledge of various types of lumber, ability to operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, and strong customer service skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Clean and valid Drivers License
- Six (6) months of experience with performing these or similar tasks
- OSHA Forklift Certification (training is provided)
