Role OverviewThe Yard Coordinator is responsible for the safe, efficient movement and staging of trailers throughout the yard using a hostler (yard truck/spotter) to support inbound and outbound freight operations. This role exists to ensure the yard operates safely, orderly, and productively so that Blackrock Logistics can meet its service commitments.
What You Will Do
Operate a hostler (yard truck/spotter) to move, spot, and stage trailers between dock doors, parking positions, and staging areas safely and on schedule. Coordinate trailer movements with dock, warehouse, and transportation teams to support inbound and outbound freight flow.

Requirements

- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating a hostler/yard truck, spotter, or commercial vehicle in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment
- Ability to safely couple and uncouple trailers, including landing gear, air lines, and electrical connections
- Basic computer or handheld-device skills to operate a yard management system (YMS), scanner, or similar tools
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to meet the physical demands of the role
- Strong communication, coordination, and time-management skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
