Role OverviewUnder general supervision, safely and efficiently move trailers between dock doors, staging areas, and parking locations within the distribution center yard. This role supports warehouse operations by ensuring timely trailer positioning for loading and unloading.
What You Will Do
Operate a yard truck (shag truck) to move trailers within the facility grounds, spot trailers at designated dock doors for loading and unloading, and perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the yard truck.
Why It Might Be a Fit
We are looking for a candidate with 1-3 years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in outdoor conditions year-round. Strong communication and organizational skills are also required.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-3 years related experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid driver's license; CDL may be required depending on facility
- Experience operating yard trucks or similar equipment in a logistics or manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions year-round
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Basic understanding of trailer types and loading procedures
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
