Role OverviewAs a Yard Operator, you'll support daily yard operations by handling material, assisting customers, operating equipment, and maintaining a safe, efficient worksite. This role is part of the operations team at Nucor, a leading steel and steel products manufacturer.
What You Will Do
Your duties will include following safety procedures, performing general labor duties, assisting with weighing and sorting scrap materials, inspecting incoming scrap and vehicles, and providing customer service in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop outdoor environment
- Minimum 1 year of general labor experience in manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or scrap/recycling environments
- Ability to stand or walk for up to 12 hours per shift
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs and occasionally lift/carry/push/pull 15-25lbs
- Ability to work in extreme heat and be exposed to weather
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and complete tasks safely without constant supervision
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Willingness to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening (urine and hair follicle) and background check
