Role Overview

The Young Adult Program Advisor works with a caseload of post-secondary students to help them with the college application process, their post-secondary plans, and plays a key role in ensuring seamless implementation of the Future Ready Program. The program addresses the need for quality college and career advising in communities where few parents have attended college and where first-generation youth are not receiving the services they need to achieve their post-secondary goals.

What You Will Do

Manage a Future Ready caseload, create and execute workshops, maintain participant files, develop relationships with participants, and support community and collegiate partner relationships.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with high school-aged youth and young adult students, strong initiative and self-starter skills, and the ability to assist with the navigation of completing high school, college application, and financial aid systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years working with high school-aged youth & young adult students
  • Ability to assist with the navigation of completing high school, college application, & financial aid systems
  • Experience guiding youth through the college application process
  • Background working in an ethnically diverse community and in meeting the needs of the groups represented in Monterey County
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must successfully clear Moving Vehicle Record (MVR) check
